Who are you and what does your business do?

Hello there, my name is Matt Almond, and I’m the CEO and Co-founder of UpSure. We’re a startup focused on InsurTech; specialising in reducing risk and helping an amazing portfolio of really innovative businesses.

What was the problem you had that made you search for a solution like Cape?

We were really looking for a new alternative to traditional business expense cards. AMEX isn't accepted everywhere, so that was another issue. Along with the fact that we couldn't add subscriptions to our prepaid cards.

Why did you choose Cape?

From the start I absolutely loved the team, loved the vision. The product looked amazing and as a fairly early startup we're always keen to keep our fees as low as possible. After a bit of a deep dive, Cape had the lowest fees, so for us, it was a bit of a no brainer.

What tangible outcomes have you seen since using Cape?

Well, aside from people asking, “What kind of card is that?!” in a really astonished manner, it really made the process of setting up the UK operations so much smoother. It eliminated the crazy fees other cards were charging. It also allowed us to move our USD subscriptions over, again, saving a heap of money over the course of a year.

What’s your favourite holiday destination and why?

Oh, I absolutely love Italy! It’s where I went for our honeymoon and it was my first real taste of Europe. I fell in love with the food, the scenery and the relaxed way of life.
